Parenting, the Daily Mail way

So yesterday, I got on the 149 and a mother was on with her toddler son. He was screaming and shouting and being a bit of a handful - usual toddler behaviour. But to tell him off, the mother had a classic line:

"Nathan, if you don't shut up I'll feed you to the Arabs!"

I kid you not.

Come to think of it, I'm sure I'd once seen the woman on Family Fortunes:

Les Dennis (the original and still the best - Vernon Kaye you are just a pretender): "We asked a 100 people surveyed to name a dangerous race"

Woman: "The Arabs!"

Les Dennis: "Er...no, the top answer we were looking for was Formula 1."

Ok, I didn't really see her on Family Fortunes, but one contestant honestly did give that response to the question on one episode...

Ah yes, well it has been a bit quiet on the 149 of late and as all the stories here are true, I am tied to posting when something ridiculous happens...but thanks for being a regular!

When I was in the UK about 15 years ago, I heard a mother in a supermarket shout at her bawling child: "If you don't shut it, you will wake up dead one day!"

Charming!
